East African Applications
Citizenship applications for East Africans require a valid current pass or permit status throughout the process.
- Ensure current pass or permit status is not expired before applying.
- Maintain lawful status throughout the application process.
- Application fee: KES 50,000.
Spouses, Widows & Widowers
Citizenship through marriage applies to spouses of Kenyan citizens who meet the required marriage duration and documentation criteria.
- Must be married for at least SEVEN (7) years.
- Authorization letter for KenyaLink Facilitators Limited.
- Cover letter for citizenship via marriage.
- Application forms, marriage certificate, good conduct, and related documents.
- Fees: KES 50,000.
Citizenship by Lawful Residents
Lawful residents may apply by providing the prescribed forms and supporting documents.
- Authorization letter for KenyaLink Facilitators Limited.
- Cover letter for citizenship as a lawful resident.
- Reference letter, Form 9, Form N, and supporting documents.
- Certificate of good conduct.
- Personal bank statement.
- 2 passport size photos.
- Issuance fee: KES 1,000,000.
- Processing fee: KES 20,000.
Citizenship for Children
Applications are available for eligible children of Kenyan citizens by registration and adopted children.
- Printed online application Form 11.
- 2 passport size photographs.
- Birth certificate or local adoption certificate.
- Parent’s Kenyan passport and certificate of registration.
- Copy of dependant’s pass.
- Parent’s identity card.
- Applicant’s passport.
- Good conduct for children aged 18 and above.
- Police clearance certificate from country of origin for non-Kenyan children aged 18 and above.
- Applicants must remain lawfully present while the application is processed.
- Issuance fee: KES 100,000.
- Processing fee: KES 20,000.
Dual Citizenship
Applicants may declare dual citizenship and must do so within the prescribed period after receiving a Kenyan passport.
- Authorization letter for KenyaLink Facilitators Limited.
- Declaration form, photos, and certified copies of passports/documents.
- Declare dual citizenship within 3 months of receiving Kenyan passport.
- Copy of the other country’s passport.
- Copy of the other country’s citizenship certificate.
- Applicants must remain lawfully present while the application is processed.
- Police clearance certificate.
- Issuance fee: KES 10,000.
- Processing fee: KES 20,000.
Dual Citizenship Endorsement
Endorsement applies where supporting documentation and identity proof must be submitted in the prescribed form.
- Authorization letter for KenyaLink Facilitators Limited.
- Endorsement form, photos, and certified copies of documents.
- Copy of applicant’s Kenyan passport or parent’s Kenyan passport.
- Copy of the other country’s citizenship certificate.
- Applicants must remain lawfully present while the application is processed.
- Issuance fee: KES 10,000.
- Processing fee: KES 20,000.
