Dependent Pass
Who qualifies?
- a) Kenya citizens.
- b) permit holders.
- c) Exempted persons.
- d) Permanent residents.
Requirements
- Form 28 duly filled and signed.
- Detailed and Signed Cover letter from the applicant addressed to the Director of Immigration Services
- Copy of a valid national passport / National ID (bio-data page) for both the applicant and the Dependant.
- Two recent passport-size photos of the dependent.
- Evidence of the relationship between the applicant and the dependant i.e. duly certified copies of marriage certificate, birth certificate, and death certificate, whichever applicable
- Proof of sufficient and assured income to sustain self and the dependant.
- Documents in foreign languages should be translated into English by either the Embassy, Public Notary, or authorized /recognized institution
- Documentary Proof of any other condition leading to dependency e.g. Medical condition, disability, age among others.
- A valid copy of permit for those applicants holding a work permit (at least six months prior to date of application).

Fees:
Issuance fee (payable upon approval)
- Ksh 20,000 for spouse and children of Kenyan Citizen.
- Ksh 10,000 for Dependant Pass for work permit and Permanent Residency holders
- Processing Fees - Nil
Note!
- All payments must be made through the provided online module.
- It is an **offense** to mislead an Immigration Officer (Kenya Citizenship & Immigration Act, 2011 - Section 53 (1)(a)).
- Failure to make payment within 30 days from approval will render it null and void (Section 56 of the Kenya Citizenship & Immigration Regulations, 2012).
- A Dependent Pass does not allow the holder to study without a valid Pupil's Pass.
- Notification of approval is not an authority to engage in business, profession, employment or residence without first obtaining the dependant Pass.
- Additional documents may be required upon request.
- East African Community citizens (Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi) are exempted** from Dependent Pass fees.
- A Dependent Pass is not issued to persons already engaged in employment.
- It is an offence while in possession of a dependant pass to engage in any form of trade or employment either for gain or not.
- It is not intended for visa fee evasion.
- Accepted Payment Methods: M-PESA, Airtel Money or Bank Transfer.
