Passes

**Note: East African Pass Applications**
‍
- Pass applications for East Africans (Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi) are free.
- All applicants (18 years and above) must register for a Foreign National Certificate (Alien ID) upon receiving their Pass.
- Special Pass applicants need not register until they renew for another 3 months.
- Dependent Pass holders must get a re-entry pass before leaving Kenya.
- Special Pass and Pupil Pass holders no longer need a re-entry pass; passport endorsements are sufficient.
- Clearance from relevant regulatory bodies is required before submitting applications.
- Research pass applicants must affiliate with a local institution before applying.

Special Pass

Application for visitors, transit, prohibited immigrants, or inadmissible persons.

Student Pass

Application for student, research, and internship purposes.

Dependent Pass

Issued to someone eligible through their spouse, parent, or guardian who has the legal right to enter Kenya.

Re-entry Pass

Only issued to holders of dependent passes.

Extension Of Visitor's Pass

Issued to a person(s) with a visitor's pass and seeking to extend the duration of stay in the country.
